The integration and the creation of interfaces to third party systems is a central idea, which is behind the metaSEC Zphone framework. The WebTAPI webservice allows a deep and broad interaction with the MZF and all connected and managed systems. Communication takes place as stated in other parts of the system via HTTP and open standards. Major applications and fields of application are for example.
The connection to console programs, or the infeed unit of Intercom functionalities. There are already some well-known products are supported. The WebTAPI allows access and control of stations and telephones, video cameras and relays. Accessing the internal data and statuses from the system is also implemented.
The creation of audio connections, connections of relay states or retrieval of video data are the most frequently used functions. The trick is that the addressed device and its specific characteristics are abstracted from WebTAPI and can be presented and monitored over a defined, stable API to your program.
Currently about 80% of the functions supported by the system are displayed by WebTAPI. A detailed API description can gladly be requested.
